چکیده
Electrochemical CO2 reduction is a promising technology for solving the emission problems and producing value-added products. Here, we report hierarchically porous Cu1Au single-atom alloy (SAA) as an efficient electrocatalyst reduction. Benefiting from architectures with abundant vacancies well three-dimensional accessible active sites, as-prepared nanoporous SAA catalyst shows remarkable performance nearly 100% CO Faraday efficiency in wide potential range (?0.4 to ?0.9 V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode. The in-situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy studies density functional theory calculations reveal that Cu-Au interface sites serve intrinsic centers, which can facilitate activated adsorption of stabilize *COOH intermediate.

Three-dimensional porous hollow fibre copper electrodes for efficient and high-rate electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction.
Aqueous-phase electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide requires an active, earth-abundant electrocatalyst, as well as highly efficient mass transport. Here we report the design of a porous hollow fibre copper electrode with a compact three-dimensional geometry, which provides a large area, three-phase boundary for gas-liquid reactions. The performance of the copper electrode is significantly...
متن کاملTailoring Copper Nanocrystals towards C2 Products in Electrochemical CO2 Reduction.
Favoring the CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) over the hydrogen evolution reaction and controlling the selectivity towards multicarbon products are currently major scientific challenges in sustainable energy research. It is known that the morphology of the catalyst can modulate catalytic activity and selectivity, yet this remains a relatively underexplored area in electrochemical CO2 reduction. H...

Recently, amine-functionalized materials as a prospective chemical sorbent for post combustion CO₂ capture have gained great interest. However, the amine grafting for the traditional MCM-41, SBA-15, pore-expanded MCM-41 or SBA-15 supports can cause the pore volume and specific surface area of sorbents to decrease, significantly affecting the CO₂ adsorption-desorption dynamics. To overcome this ...

Polycrystalline copper electrocatalysts have been experimentally shown to be capable of reducing CO2 into CH4 and C2H4 with relatively high selectivity, and a mechanism has recently been proposed for this reduction on the fcc(211) surface of copper, which was assumed to be the most active facet. In the current work, we use computational methods to explore the effects of the nanostructure of the...

The electrochemical conversion of CO2 and H2O into syngas using renewably generated electricity is an attractive approach to simultaneously achieve chemical fixation of CO2 and storage of renewable energy. Developing cost-effective catalysts for selective electroreduction of CO2 into CO is essential to the practical applications of the approach. We report a simple synthetic strategy for the pre...
